AxFlow A/S in Denmark acquires Pumpegruppen, specialists in pump solutions for the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries as well as for water treatment and general industrial applications.
AxFlow’s Brown Brothers Engineers New Zealand acquires Galbraith Engineering Ltd and becomes Oceania’s largest fluid handling supplier.
AxFlow Germany acquired Ateliers Ehrismann SA - Geneva-based company active in the service.

The AxFlow Group acquires through its subsidiaries in the Netherlands, France and Spain the market companies of SPX Process Equipment in the same countries. The acquisition also includes the SPX Process Equipment company in Italy.
AxFlow is established in Italy at Via del Commercio, Buccinasco (MI).

This specialized pan-European distributor is now the undisputed market leader in its field, represented with own sales and service subsidiaries all over Europe.
In the UK, George Meller Ltd is restructuring into three specialized companies: AxFlow Ltd, Meller Process Equipment Ltd and Meller FlowTrans Ltd. AxFlow Norway acquires packing company Metro in Oslo.
In Denmark, Danax acquires the flow activity from Berendsen PMC (Sophus Berendsen A/S). In Hungary, AxFlow acquires Bajck Kft. A new AxFlow company is also established in Ireland.
In Denmark, Axel Johnson Teknik is divested. In Sweden, Svenska Tätningar is acquired and merged into Bergman-AXAB. Meller acquired Rogan Raydel (UK) and the Tank & Silo department of IMS (The Netherlands), forming Meller FlowTrans.
The pump departments of NESSCO (Norway) and DCM (Belgium) are acquired. So is Hillman Oy in Finland. In the same year, PROMAX is established in the Czech Republic.
Two other Norwegian companies, Norsk Pumpeindustri and Maskin K Lund are also acquired and merged into the group. In Spain, the pump division of MOPINSA is merged with Flowmax.
AKA Pump in Sweden is acquired and merged with Bergman-AXAB. In PL, a pump division is established together with AxEast. In NL, the engineering facilities of Al-Techniek NL are expanded. Axel Johnson Hellas in Greece is divested.
AxTrade Flow AB is, again, renamed AxFlow AB. Several non-core subsidiaries in Belgium, France and Germany are being divested.
A subsidiary, Flowmax, is established in Spain.
Acquisitions of Apliventil (Portugal), Gaflo (Germany) and Maskin AB AXAB (Sweden). The latter was merged with Bernhard M. Bergman AB to become AB Bergman-AXAB. Axel Johnson Flow AB became AxTrade Flow AB.
Volumax is founded in France and Wemex is transferred to a sister company, AxEast Asia. In Portugal, the Flow division of Axel Johnson Lda is turned into a separate, specialized company called Vendor.
Al-Techniek Benelux with offices in The Netherlands and Belgium is acquired and merged with Axel Johnson Industrial.
Axel Johnson Flow AB is established to co-ordinate and support the activities of about a dozen companies within the Axel Johnson Group.
They include George Meller and Bernhard M. Bergman AB.
