304 Stainless Steel is the most versatile and widely used stainless steel for pump manufacture, due to its strength and corrosion resistance in comparison with cast iron. This type of stainless steel is lower cost than other stainless steels and and is often used in pressed stainless steel pumps. It’s used more with neutral to alkaline solutions, when liquids have pH levels between 6- 10.
AxFlow gerenerally limit the use of 304 stainless steel to hygienic applications where cehmical resistance is of less importance.
