PTFE ( polytetrafluroethylene) is a thermoplastic polymer with superior chemical resistance. PTFE reduces friction, wear therefore energy consumption of pumps as it has one of the lowest coefficients of friction against any solid. PTFE pumps are suitable for handling almost any kind of liquid despite its viscosity, chemical aggressive or with solids- they will handle the most aggressive acids, for instance concentrated nitric acid. PTFE pumps can withstand the most aggressive acids, they have become popular due to their anti-corrosive, non-stick, high temperature resistance properties. The maximum liquid temperature they can handle is up to 100C.
