Titanium Pumps
AxFlow offer an extremely large number of titanium pump types.
Titanium is more frequently being used in the construction of pumps, as it has several beneficial features, its widely used in highly corrosive or high chloride environments. Titanium has excellent corrosion resistance and has a high strength to weight ratio. Titanium is 45 percent lighter than steel, but twice as strong as aluminium. It’s able to resist abrasive and chemical erosion even in high flow environments. Titanium pumps can last up to ten years longer than pumps in a similar application.
Chemical liquid handling applications, such as the injection of high-pressure additives in petroleum production, supplying sodium hypochlorite and the transfer of thick, hot, corrosive and abrasive liquids, are increasing examples of titanium pumps used in the process and chemical industries.
Titanium's high strenth to weight ratio makes it idea as a rear pump housing for mag drive pumps and is used by Gruppo Aturia for all of their API 685 pumps.
