Hydrochloric acid is highly corrosive, particularly to metals such as aluminium, cast iron and even stainless steel. Hastelloy is the most resistant metal when it comes to pumping hydrochloric acid with Titanium having some degree of resistance at lower conentrations.
Generally technopolymers such as polypropylene, PVDF and ETFE are more resistant and should be used for temperatures up to 90 oC.
We have a range of pump types suitable for pumping Hydrochloric Acid including AODD pumps, and plastic centrifugal and gear pumps including many magnetically coupled models.
